Did you know that the motor can actually generate electricity.


Just like this little robot is doing, a motor can be connected to another motor or light to power it.

Try this:
  1. Connect two motors together with a short wire.


  2. Take two pulley wheels and place them on the shaft of each motor.


  3. Insert a black friction connector into one of the wheels to make a handle.


  4. Now rotate the wheel with the handle on it.


Questions:
  1. What happens when you rotate the wheel?



    2. If you followed the example above the wheels should be rotating in the same direction. The electricity generated by one powering the other.

  2. Can you make them rotate in different directions?



    3. Hint: Try playing with how the wire is connected to the motor.
